ComplyFlow vs ecoPortal

ComplyFlow vs ecoPortal: What Each One Does Best.

ecoPortal is a health and safety platform built from modules across safety, environment, and quality, with Contractor Management as one of them. ComplyFlow, Sydney-based since 2009, puts your contractors, Workers, and sites on one record. Here is where each is stronger.

Checked against both vendors’ own pages, 2 and 5 October 2026

The Short Answer.

ComplyFlow runs prequalification, Workers, site access, permits, incidents, plant, and inspections on one record, with AI you set up to read a submission against your criteria. ecoPortal sells a library of modules across health and safety, environment, and quality, with Contractor Management and Visitor Management among them.

In Short

Who Is Stronger, and Where.

Where ComplyFlow Is Stronger

  • Your AI assistant works from the live record. None of the ecoPortal pages we read describes an MCP server. ComplyFlow’s lets ChatGPT, Claude, or Copilot answer from your live data, read-only if you want it to be.
  • The contractor fixes the gaps before submitting. ecoPortal’s Contractor Management module lets contractor administrators upload due-diligence documents and invite their own workers, and none of its pages we read lets them run an AI review first. In ComplyFlow, where an AI agent is set on a question, the contractor sees the gaps first and can run the same review up to three times.
  • Permits are approved section by section. ecoPortal’s modules page lists a Permits to Work module, and its contractor FAQ describes configurable workflows and approval processes. None of its pages we read gives each section of one permit its own approver. In ComplyFlow each section of a permit has its own reviewer, and the crew signs in to the active permit.
  • The alarm goes where the lone Worker goes. A ComplyFlow Worker sets an expected time on site, and the supervisor is alerted on an overrun, with an Emergency button on the Worker’s own phone on request. None of the ecoPortal pages we read describes a lone-worker alert or duress button.

Where ecoPortal Is Stronger

  • One platform across safety, environment, and quality. ecoPortal’s integrated platform page describes one place to manage health and safety, risk, quality, and environmental processes together, and its modules page adds an ISO compliance module with gap analysis. ComplyFlow does not offer environment, quality, or ISO gap analysis modules.
  • A native app with offline use, and AI-assisted forms. ecoPortal Connect is a native mobile app with offline use, and its app page names Smart Form Finder, Smart Summary, and Smart Fill for Fields. ComplyFlow’s Inspection app also works offline, syncing when signal returns; Live Access needs a connection.
  • A SOC 2 Type II attestation. ecoPortal’s Contractor Management page states a SOC 2 Type II attestation and ISO 27001 certification. ComplyFlow is ISO 27001 certified, not SOC 2.
  • A dedicated Customer Services Manager. ecoPortal describes a dedicated Customer Services Manager and a six-step implementation process on its modules page. ComplyFlow has a free Starter plan for up to 5 users and 5 sites, and you can book a demo on your own contractors with the people who build it.

Where Each One Wins

The Honest Version, Both Ways.

Choose ComplyFlow When the AI Should Read First.

A ComplyFlow contractor is assessed with the AI assessment beside the document, and the contractor can run the same AI review before submitting, up to three times, and fix what it finds before your approver sees the file.

  • Company assessment with the AI assessment beside the document
  • The contractor runs the same review before submitting
  • Up to three tries, with the gaps listed each time

And When the Question Is Setup.

ecoPortal describes a dedicated Customer Services Manager and a six-step implementation process on its modules page. ComplyFlow has a free Starter plan for up to 5 users and 5 sites, publishes its prices on its pricing page, and lets you book a demo on your own contractors with the people who build it.

  • AU$35 a year* per Worker, valid with every Client
  • AU$100 a year per company, where a Client asks for an AI-reviewed prequalification
  • Enterprise plans quoted against your own numbers

Choose ecoPortal When One Platform Is the Point.

If you want incidents, hazards, audits, quality, environment, and contractors in one engagement-led platform, with a SOC 2 Type II attestation and a dedicated Customer Services Manager, ecoPortal is built for that, and its home page leads with safety engagement.

  • Health and safety, risk, quality, and environment in one platform
  • A native mobile app with offline use, and AI-assisted reporting
  • A SOC 2 Type II attestation and a six-step implementation process

Questions

Questions People Ask About ecoPortal & ComplyFlow.

Does ecoPortal do contractor management?

Yes. ecoPortal’s Contractor Management module describes a record of contractor organisations, pre-qualification by its template or your own, reminders ahead of expiry, and contractor administrators who upload due-diligence documents and invite their own workers. It is one module in a library that spans health and safety, environment, and quality.

Does ecoPortal restrict site sign-in?

Its Visitor Management module says it restricts successful sign-ins to those who meet the criteria you set, for example valid insurance and an induction score, with notifications for anyone denied entry. Ask ecoPortal which of induction, insurance, and certification it reads at the moment of entry, and what a person who is denied entry sees.

How does ComplyFlow connect a supplier, a Worker, and a work order?

Your maintenance or work-order system reads the supplier’s compliance through the API before it releases a job: cleared, and the Worker signs in to the order; not cleared, and your system holds it with the reason on the supplier’s record. The status is the same wherever it is read, and a Worker who is not cleared for the location will not be able to sign in until it is resolved, unless the site is set to allow Sign in Anyway, which notifies the client. The Inspection app records the work, and the open API reads and writes work orders and inspections.

Does ecoPortal use AI?

Yes. Its app page names embedded AI features, Smart Form Finder, Smart Summary, and Smart Fill for Fields. ComplyFlow’s AI reads a contractor’s answers and documents against your criteria and shows its reasons to the person who approves, and the contractor can run the same review before submitting, up to three times. Ask any vendor what each AI feature reads, and who reviews the result.

Is ComplyFlow SOC 2 certified like ecoPortal?

No. ComplyFlow is certified to ISO 27001, the international standard for information security management, and it is AWS Qualified Software since 2023. ecoPortal’s Contractor Management page states a SOC 2 Type II attestation and ISO 27001 certification. Both address information security, so check which one your own policy or procurement names.

What else does ecoPortal sell?

ecoPortal’s modules page lists modules across health and safety, environment, and quality, including incident reporting, audits and inspections, permits to work, training records, site inductions, and an ISO compliance module with gap analysis. ComplyFlow’s case is the contractor-to-job record, so ask what you need from the quality and environment side and whether it already sits in another system.

Is ecoPortal used in Australia?

ecoPortal runs an Australian site, and its contact page lists offices in Auckland and Sydney. ComplyFlow is Sydney-based, since 2009. Read 5 October 2026.

Can we run both?

You can. One shape is ecoPortal carrying the wider health, safety, and quality program, with ComplyFlow carrying the contractors, Workers, permits, and plant. It is still two records for one contractor; ComplyFlow’s REST API and MCP access exist partly to make that cost smaller. Whatever you run, ask what happens between the systems: whether a work order can see the supplier’s status, and whether the gate checks it again when the Worker arrives.
