Does it actually check Chain of Responsibility duties across our carrier panel, or just store documents?
It checks. Licence class, fatigue accreditation, insurance, and dangerous goods endorsement are read against your requirements as they are uploaded, and dispatch is blocked the moment one lapses. It is not a document store; it is the record that shows the Primary Duty was met.
What are Chain of Responsibility obligations?
Every party in the chain, from consignor and scheduler to loader and consignee, has a primary duty under section 26C of the Heavy Vehicle National Law to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the safety of its transport activities. Executives carry a separate due diligence duty. It covers vehicles with a gross vehicle mass or aggregate trailer mass over 4.5 tonnes, and combinations that include one. Where this applies: the HVNL, in NSW, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, and the ACT. Western Australia has its own Chain of Responsibility law, in the Road Traffic (Administration) Act 2008 and the Road Traffic (Vehicles) Act 2012. The HVNL has not commenced in the Northern Territory.
Can a subcontracted carrier’s licence, fatigue accreditation, and insurance be checked before they are dispatched, not after?
Yes. The check runs at onboarding and again at every sign-in, so a lapsed licence or an expired insurance certificate blocks dispatch on the day, not in a review three months later.
Does it connect to our telematics platform, or do our schedulers have to check two systems?
It connects, through the open API. ComplyFlow works alongside Teletrac Navman, MTData, or EROAD rather than replacing them: the vehicle and driver-hours data stays where it is, and your scheduler sees the licence, insurance, and fatigue accreditation record next to it, not in a second system.
How does it handle dangerous goods drivers and vehicles specifically?
The dangerous goods driver licence is checked like any other licence, and the consignment documentation, UN number, shipping name, hazard class, and packing group, is held on the load record before dispatch, ready for the driver, the dock, and the regulator.
Can we see who is cleared to be on the dock or in the DC right now, across every subcontractor tier, including after hours at an unmanned site?
Yes. A QR code or a tablet at the dock or gate works around the clock on the carrier’s own phone, and the live list shows who is cleared, across every carrier tier, whether the depot is staffed or not.
Does it separate accreditation under the new Heavy Vehicle Accreditation scheme from our own internal safety management system?
Yes. Accreditation status is one record and your Safety Management System Standard 2026 documentation is another, both kept current and both exportable, so an NHVR audit sees the two the way it expects.
How does an owner-driver register once and have that count for every Client they carry for?
They register once with one login, upload their documents once, and every Client on ComplyFlow measures those documents against that Client’s own requirements. No re-submitting the same paperwork per Client.
Does it handle rail safety and ONRSR requirements at our intermodal terminals, or is it road-only?
It is not road-only. A terminal’s own competency and induction requirements sit on the same record as road transport, so a rail Worker and a truck driver are each checked against the standard that applies to them.
